A relatively new term in the technology world-cloud computing is connecting people, sharing resources, and storing information better than ever before! Cloud Architects are in high demand across all industries and organizations want to deploy cloud computing solutions since they decrease costs while increasing productivity. Instead of buying expensive software programs and having to rely on a computer’s limited storage, cloud computing lets organizations use the internet as an effective collaborative tool, remote storage device, and allows access to a variety of software, also known as, ‘software as a service’ (SAAS). Cloud Architects are responsible for analyzing and setting up the right cloud computing solutions based on an organization’s needs. As a Cloud Architect, you will be in charge of creating and developing solutions, maintaining these solutions, and troubleshooting any problems that arise.
Impact on Society:
Do you have a Gmail account? Used Google Docs recently or store files online? All of these are examples of cloud computing – information is stored remotely on the cloud, allowing unlimited space, sharing capabilities, and access from any computer. Instead of being tied down to one computer you are able to retrieve important documents, emails, photos, or other information anytime and anywhere. Software use is also available on the cloud and instead of buying expensive software suites, for only a low monthly fee, you can access a variety of up-to-date software that is available as a service. Cloud Architects are the ones who implement these solutions and ensure they run properly for the organization at hand.
Cloud Architects can either be employed by a company or as consultants. As a consultant, Cloud Architects will be sent out to work for various clients who need assistance. Cloud Architects who work for a company will perform a wide range of tasks relating to cloud computing solutions. A Cloud Architect’s salary is high – usually upwards of $100,000 a year. It is important to keep up-to-date with new and emerging technologies in order to provide the best and most current solutions for your clients.
